It was my mother who made me understand that no matter how beautiful your saree maybe but all the beauty can go waste if it is not accompanied by a good blouse.
The blouse does not have to be a matching one, but it has to complement the saree and enhance its beauty.
Saree is an important part of the Indian culture that needs to be preserved and a blouse can go a long way in helping us do that.
So when I saw this very striking looking one on Instagram I just knew I wanted it. It was the colour combination which attracted me towards it in the first place.
The blouse is in shades of red and blue with a very ethnic feel to it.
It is a hand block ajrakh/ natural dye on pure cotton with beautiful mirror work. And it is a team of women who have created this beauty.
And what is more!! The blouse has a name! It’s called Manuia Sitara.
Manuia means happy in the Hawaiian speaking countries. And Sitara comes from the mirror work on the blouse.
So a blouse which makes everyone happy! How cool is that!
I cannot wait to team it up with different sarees because that’s what it is … a very versatile piece that can go with so many sarees.
The print, the design, the mirror work all pulled me towards it not to forget the lovely smile of the model.
So I placed the order and lo and behold the blouse became mine. The fit is perfect and the quality as promised.
The blouse is the creation of Antarang.
