By the time a woman reaches her thirties, she is pretty settled in her personal and professional life. Though one always aspires to better one’s options, a woman knows her mind and what she wants out of her life by the time she reaches this stage. Looking for a job/partner is no longer the focus as these aspects have already been taken care of.
Therefore now is the time for a woman to look at herself, to focus on herself. It is time to set some boundaries that enable you to take care of your wellbeing, peace and happiness, all of which will hold you in good stead in the years to come. Moreover, a certain level of maturity has also come in, which allows you to be logical, rational, and practical about life.
So though I am not a health or nutrition expert, I am sharing these tips on some healthy habits which should now become a part of your life. These tips are based on what I have seen and experienced in life. It is from one woman to the other.
Thirties is an excellent time to build a solid foundation for the years to come. Bid adieu to the lifestyle of the twenties, which may not have been correct and embrace these healthy habits.
And health here is both physical and mental.
1. Sleep on Time
Once you reach your 30s, it is time for you to develop a routine for your sleep. For starters, know that late nights can play havoc with your system, so start avoiding them. The body needs an adequate amount of rest to repair and rejuvenate itself, which cannot be overlooked. So not only do you need to sleep adequately, but you need to sleep at a fixed time.

2. Eat on Time
Eating on time is another aspect that needs to be looked into and focused upon. This is the time for you to realize how critical it is to have a fixed time for your meals. Don’t follow fad diets; eat well, though, in moderation. Remember that every meal is essential, so missing meals should never be an option.
3. Eat Healthy
The time you eat and what you eat is equally essential. Now is the age to gradually wean yourself away from junk food and unhealthy eating habits. Make fruits, vegetables, and whole grains a part of your diet. Learn to balance because sometimes one tends to indulge, which is fine. So if you’ve gone unhealthy, try and compensate for it in the next meal. Follow a lifestyle of checks and balances.

4. Make Exercise a Part of Your Life
Only eating healthy will not be enough. You need to exercise as well. There can be no excuse there. And in the world that we live in, you can choose any form of exercise. You could walk, do yoga, pilates or anything else that you want to. The bottom line is that you need to start moving.
You may not have done it before, but you need to do it for your future, and now is the best time to begin.
If you don’t do it now, you are only inviting trouble in the form of health issues.
5. Look After Your Skin
Your skin too needs care and looking after, so make that a part of your daily routine. Develop a regular skincare routine that includes cleansing, toning and moisturizing. Other than that, use packs and scrubs regularly to nourish your skin and hair.
And the best part is that you don’t have to spend a lot of money on this. Instead, peep into your kitchen and use the ingredients on your shelf. Mix them and use them and look beautiful.
6. Develop a Hobby for Your Mental Wellbeing
By now, you should be mature enough to know that though work is essential, it can’t be the only thing you do. Even if you don’t go out to work, you still need to break your day by doing something that breaks the monotony, the routine. So pick up a hobby, an interest that relaxes your mind and gives you a sense of peace and calm. It could be anything from reading to singing to gardening to painting; again, whatever you like.
7. Get into the Habit of Getting a Health Checkup
Though you may be leading a healthy lifestyle, you never know what life has in store. So therefore, make regular health checkups a part of your life. It is always better to catch any ailment/disease early, and there is nothing to be gained from postponing or procrastinating.
8. Take a Break
All work and no play never helped anyone. Even though you may love your work, you can’t be working all the time. The body needs rest, and so does the mind. Therefore it is essential to take a break from work. Start doing that by taking short holidays with your friends /family and see how fresh and rejuvenated you feel on coming back.
9. Start Investing Your Money
This is also the time to start becoming financially wise. You must have started earning well by now, so make sure not to squander it all away. Start saving and also investing your money. Look for smart investment options and put your money there. It is essential to be independent in life in every possible way and not be dependent on anyone, whoever that may be. Therefore learn to save and invest your money and see it grow.
10. Know Yourself
Once you have reached your thirties, you know yourself. You know your mind and body like never before. Therefore do not follow anything blindly, be it fashion or a diet. You don’t need to do something just because others are doing it. It has to suit you; it has to work for you. You need to find out what works for you in life and follow that. Be your own person and not a copy.
The Thirties is the right time to bring some discipline, some accountability in life. Take charge of your life and develop some good habits. You cannot afford to be immature any longer.
So gear up and get going.
