A weekend trip to Pune helped me discover this little haven. My friends in the city and Google were instrumental in getting me there. And am I glad I listened to them?
Express Book Service, founded in the early fifties by the current owner and fourth generation bookseller – Rohit Jerajani’s great grandfather, is a place where you can just get lost. There are books and books everywhere!!
A store that has been patronized by well-known figures like Nehru, Bhimsen Joshi, Narayan Murty, Raj Kapoor, Lata Mangeshkar, to name a few, is one of the icons of Pune.

From organizing book talks, to speed reading classes for children to setting up book stalls inside malls to encourage people to read, the store continues to do its bit in this space.
If you love books, if you crave books and are in the city of Pune, you have absolutely no reason to miss this paradise.
What do you think?
