India’s rich history and knowledge of natural flora have become a precious treasury of holistic healing worldwide. These revered herbs have not only stood the test of time here but have also traveled across the globe to find themselves in the apothecaries of the West. These incredibly potent plants have finally been recognized for their healing effects on the mind, body and soul. These are the herbs that you need for a glowing skin. Neem is one of the best Ayurvedic herbs.

In Sanskrit, Neem is called “ärishtha”, which means “reliever of sickness”, and is often referred to as the “miracle tree” in India. It has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for over 5,000 years. As a staple in Indian remedies because of its antibacterial properties, it treats various illnesses and skin-related conditions.

Neem can be used in various forms. One of the most common ones is the oil made by crushing the leaves of the plant. It can also be used in powder form.

Neem oil is highly therapeutic and anti-inflammatory. It is widely used for healing topical rashes and wounds, dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis and acne.

Neem oil is used to beautify and rejuvenate the skin. It helps reduce fine lines providing a natural healthy glow.

It is also beneficial for the hair as it keeps the scalp healthy and dandruff free.

Neem powder, along with other things, can be used as a face pack.

Make a face pack of the following and see your skin glow.

  • 3 tsp neem powder
  • 1 tsp of Orange powder.
  • 1 tbsp of honey
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 1 tbsp yoghurt

Make a paste, apply to the face and leave it on for 25 mins. Wash off after that.

For best results, use twice a week.

Not only that, the entire tree can help in saving our environment from pollution.

It not only gives out oxygen but balances the oxygen levels in the atmosphere (we really should be planting more neem trees everywhere in India….natural air purifiers!!)

Neem trees are also helpful in rehabilitating wasteland areas and enriching the soil, making them an excellent natural fertilizer.
